TiviMate is a television app for devices built on Android TV, Google TV or Amazon’s Fire OS. Opened for the first time it’s an empty shell; once your SSTV IPTV line is added, it behaves like a well-designed satellite receiver. An independent developer makes it, and the version with every feature, Premium, comes with your SSTV IPTV subscription at no extra cost.
Why we chose it
We’ve tested many players over the years. TiviMate keeps coming out on top for three reasons: it’s quick to zap even with long channel lists, its guide looks like a proper TV grid rather than a list, and it handles replays and recordings reliably on modest hardware.
A tour of the main features
- The grid. Rows of channels, columns of time, several days of listings with programme summaries.
- Zapping. Up and down on the remote moves through channels, just like broadcast TV.
- Order in the line-up. Hide whole groups, rename them and keep personal favourites lists.
- Going back in time. On archive channels, scroll left in the grid to play earlier programmes.
- Recordings. Programmes saved on the device or on a USB stick, scheduled from the guide.
- Split screen. Up to four channels side by side with multi-view.
- Locks. A PIN to keep certain groups away from children.
What Premium adds
Without Premium, TiviMate is limited to a single playlist and a basic set of tools. Premium opens up several playlists, recording, multi-view, parental locks, automatic frame-rate switching and finer control over the guide and groups. Normally it’s a paid subscription bought from the developer; SSTV IPTV customers receive a TiviMate account with Premium already active for the length of their plan.
Hardware compatibility
| Device | TiviMate? |
|---|---|
| Google TV Streamer, NVIDIA Shield, Chromecast with Google TV | Yes, via Google Play |
| Televisions running Google TV or Android TV | Yes, via Google Play |
| Fire TV Stick 4K Max, 4K, Lite, Cube (Fire OS) | Yes, installed through Downloader |
| Recent Fire TV sticks on Vega OS | No |
| LG, Samsung, Apple devices, Windows and Mac | No, another player is needed |
The SS IPTV guide covers LG and older Samsung televisions, and the devices page everything else.
Your Premium account
The TiviMate account in our activation email is not the same thing as your SSTV IPTV details. It goes into TiviMate’s Unlock Premium screen once; your SSTV IPTV line is then added as a playlist. The account works on as many devices as TiviMate allows per account and stays active while your plan does. The setup guide walks through it.
Installing from the right place
On Google TV and Android TV, Google Play is the only source you need. On Fire OS, Downloader fetches the app from the developer’s own address, as shown in the Fire TV guide. Steer clear of “modded” copies posted on random websites: they may hide malware and stop working after an update.
Settings we suggest
- Turn on auto frame rate in the playback menu for judder-free sport and films.
- Raise the buffer size if short freezes appear.
- Have the EPG refresh itself every 12 or 24 hours.
- Use backup to copy a finished setup onto a second device.
TiviMate questions
Does SSTV IPTV make TiviMate?
No. TiviMate belongs to its own developer. We provide the service you watch and a Premium account for the app.
What happens to Premium if I stop my plan?
The Premium account is tied to your subscription, so it ends with it unless you renew.
Can I use my own Premium account instead?
Yes. Keep it and simply add your SSTV IPTV line as a playlist.
Can I put TiviMate on an LG or Samsung TV?
No, it isn’t made for those systems. Use SS IPTV or another TV player, or plug in a Google TV device.
