Every smart TV family has its own app store and its own habits. Find out which one you own (the smart TV page explains how), then follow the matching section below.
Google TV inside the television
Brands such as Sony, TCL, Hisense and Philips build Google TV into many of their sets. For SSTV IPTV they behave exactly like a streaming stick: TiviMate is available in their Google Play store and Premium unlocks with the account from our email. Rather than repeat it here, follow the TiviMate Premium guide from the first step.
LG sets with webOS
LG’s store carries SS IPTV, a free player that reads playlist links.
- Press the house button on the remote, open LG Content Store (simply Apps on recent models) and install SS IPTV.
- Open the app once so it can create its settings.
- Give it your SSTV IPTV playlist link, either in the app’s settings or by pairing it with the SS IPTV website using a temporary code.
The SS IPTV guide covers both ways in detail, including the guide and replay settings.
Samsung sets with Tizen
Samsung’s store doesn’t offer SS IPTV, so Samsung owners use another player:
- From Apps on the Smart Hub, look up the player our welcome email recommends and install it.
- On first launch many of these players display a device ID or MAC address. Write it down.
- Depending on the player, enter your details on the TV itself, or on the developer’s website against that ID.
- Close and reopen the app so it fetches your channels and listings.
Owners of Samsung models from about 2012 to 2019 have one more option: the SS IPTV developer offers a package that installs from a USB stick. Our article on Samsung TV players weighs up the choices.
A few TV players charge a one-off or yearly activation after a free trial. That money goes to the app’s maker; it isn’t part of your SSTV IPTV plan. Plugging in a Google TV Streamer or a Fire OS stick with TiviMate Premium sidesteps it entirely.
Once it’s installed
- Check that the programme guide is enabled in the app.
- Make sure listings appear at the right local time.
- If the TV has a network socket, use it: televisions often have weaker Wi-Fi than streaming sticks.
Questions about TV installs
Is a stick better than the TV’s built-in app?
Usually it’s quicker and gets updates more often, but the TV’s own app saves you an extra device. Try the built-in route first if you prefer.
A player on my TV wants a payment. Is that you?
No. App fees belong to the app’s developer. SSTV IPTV is only ever paid at our checkout.
I entered my details and see no channels. What next?
Close the app fully and reopen it, double-check every character of the details and the login type, and send us a ticket if the list still won’t load.
