These steps suit every Fire TV device running Fire OS: the 4K Max, the 4K and 4K Plus, the Lite, the Cube and televisions with Fire TV inside. A stick on Amazon’s newer Vega OS can’t follow them; the Fire TV page shows how to tell the difference.
Keep your activation email open on your phone. You’ll need two sets of details from it: the TiviMate account and your SSTV IPTV line.
Step A: the Downloader helper
Downloader is a free app that fetches files from the web, and it’s the official route to TiviMate on Fire OS. From the home screen, highlight the magnifier, pick Search and type the word Downloader. The right result is orange, by AFTVnews. Install it like any Amazon app.
Step B: one switch in the developer menu
Fire OS only lets an app install other apps if you say so.
- Open Settings, then My Fire TV.
- No Developer options entry? Enter About, sit on the device name and click it repeatedly; after about seven clicks a toast confirms developer mode.
- In Developer options, open Install unknown apps, find Downloader and set it to On.
Step C: fetch TiviMate
Launch Downloader and accept its storage request. In the URL bar enter tivimate.com and confirm. On the developer’s page, pick the build for Android TV and Fire TV; once the file arrives, choose Install, then Done. Downloader will offer to remove the installer file: say yes, as space on a stick is precious.
Step D: Premium, then your line
Open TiviMate from Your apps and games (long-press it there to move it onto the home row).
- In TiviMate’s Settings, choose Unlock Premium, then Account, and enter the TiviMate email and password from our message.
- Return to the start screen and choose Add playlist.
- Select the Xtream Codes type and copy in the server, username and password shown in My subscription.
- Confirm, name the list SSTV IPTV, and finish.
Channels, listings and the catalogue load within a minute. Recommended settings are in the TiviMate Premium guide.
If a step fails
| What happens | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Developer options can’t be found | Developer mode isn’t on yet: keep clicking the name under About |
| Search doesn’t find Downloader | The stick is probably a Vega OS model; check About |
| “Installation blocked” | The unknown-apps switch for Downloader is still off |
| Premium refuses the login | The SSTV IPTV details were used instead of the TiviMate account |
Questions about the Fire TV install
Does turning on unknown apps put my stick at risk?
Not when you only install apps you chose from their official source. You may turn the switch off again once TiviMate is in place.
How does TiviMate get updates on a Fire stick?
The app announces new versions itself and installs them from inside its own menu.
I have a Fire TV television, not a stick. Same steps?
Yes. Fire TV televisions run Fire OS, so the walkthrough is identical.
